Guy de Malherbe's humorous oyster still lifes and uncanny landscapes mingle with art historical tropes from Courbet to de Chirico to Warhol Guy de Malherbe (born 1958) lives and works between Paris and his studio in Poncé-sur-Loir, Sarthe. His still lifes combine gastronomy and painting in a tongue-in-cheek exploration of artistic heritage. Likewise, his landscapes rendered in an almost Fauvist palette, are odes to Normandy and its rocks, crevasses and sandy expanses.
