Jimmy Desana

Salvation is the realization of one of Jimmy DeSana's last major works. Unpublished at the time of the artist's death, the book consists of DeSana's late photographic abstractions, which depict still lifes manipulated using his iconic darkroom and collage techniques. Salvation unfolds like a soliloquy, deftly meditating on loss, death, and nothigness. As with much of the artist's work, the effect is both intimate and otherworldly.
