I wrote the book for my grand daughter and read it to her while she was in her first and second cast. Now she has recovered, she still refers to the characters and enjoys reading the book with me. I believe it helped with her processing this event and ultimately her recovery. This book is suitable for children from 2 years - 5 years approximately. With Twinkletoes, Super Speedy and Bouncer, a young girl learns to cope with the limitations of being in a cast and discovers the strength of her own resilience. This book helps to process the the difficult notion of time passing and helps develop patience promoting faith in the future and managing her expectations of when she will be able to live her life to the fullest. I also hope it goes towards preventing any long term trauma which we as adults are probably more afraid of than the children going through this process. £1 from each sale will go to STEPS hip dysplasia charity as it is a cause close to my heart.
