(Author) Shaheed ChosenoneThis is a story based on true life events. This book will give you great Insight of the life of a poor young black boy raised in a bad neighborhood in an overcrowded apartment, and also struggling to come to terms with his sexuality as a gay/bisexual man. Fighting Through all his adversaries and obstacles he had to endure, but still eagered to make something of himself, he still was able to graduate high school and go off to college. Of course, the drama of navigating life was right on his heels every turn of the way. In the end he found his self as a college student in his last semester of obtaining his bachelor's degree and in trouble with the law putting him at risk of losing everything he worked so hard for. Unfortunately, this is the sad truth of America that a lot of people especially black and brown face. The Justice system taking our lives away even in my case as a first-time offender, College student, and full-time employee at a restaurant. This book is not about bashing the justice system but a wild ride of the life and through the eyes of this young man figuring out life on his own, a mother on drugs, a father in jail, trying to hide his sexuality during a very homophobic time, exploring his sexuality, and trying to become the man he wants to be. Now, this book is very graphic and detailed so if your not grown and cant handle it, I suggest you put it back down. This book is going to put you in a movie as it captivates you with its scenes.
