Proof of Scars

Daniel had a privileged upbringing on the Atwood Estate but without a father and only his mother on the scene he was bullied at school and ran away to sea. Jacob Christian took pity on him and together they travelled to Bristol looking for work. The captain of the ‘Good Fortune' which was sailing to the Azores with supplies, agreed to take them on board and under the watchful eye of Jacob and Captain Atwood, Daniel proved to be a willing and capable member of the crew. Then he met Dellorisa de Rocha, the daughter of a very wealthy estate owner in the Azores, and decided that his future life was with her in the hacienda. Tragedy happened when an earthquake struck the island. What would Daniel decide to do next? He had learned something that could change his life forever, but was he willing to give it all up for the sake of his family.
