Wood and Wood-Based Materials for Building

Wood and wood-based materials are increasingly being used in the construction of large and multi-storey buildings. Knowledge of their materials properties is necessary to avoid errors in construction, and for the successful application of design guidelines such as Eurocode 5. This book gives an overview of the important physical-mechanical properties of the main wood species and typical wood-based materials, described in relation to moisture, elasticity and creep, and their strength properties, along with important application guidelines for their use in the building industry.
